Chappie, who has gone on to live with the principal of a Jr. High school in Washington state as a beloved family member and one of the pilot dogs for a an animal intervention and therapy program within the school, had her Pet Partners therapy evaluation yesterday!
We are delighted and proud to announce that Chappie and her owner Troy have passed their evaluation with a Complex rating! Chappie's level-headed, gentle nature make her a natural with therapy work and she has already brought such a positive impact to the students and faculty she visits on the daily. She loves her job and her people, and we are endlessly thankful to Troy for giving her the life she so deserves! Wish and Kaylee also passed their evaluation to become a Pet Partners registered therapy team, as well! He was happy to show off his obedience skills and shows a strong aptitude for therapy work, and we are very excited to see him begin his career as a therapy dog out in eastern WA. This makes three Samhain therapy dogs, now, including Casper, who worked as a therapy dog through Pet Partners back when it was still known as the Delta Society! Also, Wish picked up another single at the Coeur d'Alene Dog Fancier's show in May, going WD/BOW! He just needs one point to finish!! We've had a busy last few weeks!

We are very excited to announce that one of our girls, Chappie, is going to be starting a very exciting new chapter of her life!
Chappie's career as a show dog was cut short when she came down with pyometra and was spayed to save her life. Thankfully, Chappie made a swift and smooth recovery and bounced back right away! It was a very scary way to end 2020 but we are so relieved and thankful that she is still with us and as sweet as ever. We have matched Chappie with the principal of a junior high school that is working on getting an in-house therapy dog program started within the school and already has a pilot dog that has been a major success working with the kids. Chappie has arrived safe and sound and is already adored by her new family, and once she's settled into her new home, she will begin training and evaluation to begin working as a therapy dog for the school! We can't imagine a better job for her, she is such a sweet, intuitive and sensitive dog, and all she wants is to lay with and make whoever she is with happy. After discussing with the school staff, we decided that Chappie would be an excellent candidate for this program. She will have such a wonderful life being spoiled and adored by kids, who she will be bringing so much joy to! We'll keep up with Chappie's adventures here to keep you all posted. We are so proud of and so very excited for our sweet girl! Site Updates: -Moved Chappie's page to our 'Retired/Veterans' section. Added a slideshow that we will update with pictures from Chappie's adventures as they are sent to us! -Added more photos of the Wren x Penny puppies! -Added more photos of Abbee that her family sent to us!
